About this Fellowship
The NIH Fogarty International Center Program for Fellows and Scholars supports one year of mentored research training in global health at established biomedical and health research institutions and project sites in low-and-middle-income countries (LIMICs). Awards are available to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral scholars.
Applicants must apply through one of the current participating consortia of U.S. universities. In general, applicants must identify a mentor at a university in a participating consortium who will agree to support the applicant if they are offered a fellowship.
Each consortium has its own particular focus, training sites, eligibility criteria, application process, and due dates. Applicants should consult the website of the consortium they are interested in for full details. Pre-doctoral fellows must be U.S. citizens. Postdoctoral fellows may be U.S. citizens or citizens of participating LMICs.
Award Value
Amounts vary. All awards support a 12-month mentored health research training experience in a low- or middle-income country.
