About this Fellowship

These fellowships support graduate study of American history by aspiring and experienced secondary school teachers of American history, American government, and social studies.

The program must include a concentration of courses on the history and principles of the United States Constitution. Applicants compete only against other applicants from the states of their legal residence. Generally, one Fellowship per state is awarded each year.

Award Value

Maximum of $12,000 per year of study, for a maximum award of $24,000, to cover tuition, required fees, and books for the completion of a Master's degree. May also be used for room and board as necessary.
