About this Fellowship
Two-year post-doctoral research fellowship that seeks to address public health demand for quantitative policy analysis, health economics-based inquiry and integrative health services research.
Update as of May 20, 2025: CDC will not be offering this fellowship in 2025. Please continue to check the program website for updates.
Fellows are assigned positions in various CDC programs where they conduct research while also completing additional trainings and engaging in leadership and service activities. The fellowship offers a traditional track (economists and health services researchers) and a modeling track (disease modelers, ecologists, operations researchers, industrial engineers, and applied mathematics).
Fellows who are U.S. citizens may be eligible to receive up to $50K a year in student loan repayment for a two-year service agreement, based on availability of funding. Non-U.S. citizens may apply but must have authorization to work in the United States.
Deadlines are typically in January, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.
Award Value
Fellows are paid the equivalent of a GS 12, Step 3 salary and receive the same benefits as other CDC FTE employees (such as medical insurance and vacation). Salaries vary by location.
