About this Fellowship
The NREIP places students in Department of Navy laboratories where they take part in 10-week summer internship research. The program provides graduate students pursuing STEM careers the opportunity to learn about Naval research and technology and mentoring by top scientists and engineers.
Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum of 31 credits by the end of the spring semester before the internship would begin. Applicants must be graduating the spring semester before the internship or later (winter graduates are not eligible).
Deadlines are typically in November, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.
Award Value
$7,500 stipend for undergraduates ($9,000 for returning interns) and $11,500 stipend for graduate students.
