Graduate Fellowships for STEM Diversity (formerly the National Physical Science Consortium) is a partnership between government agencies and laboratories, industry, and higher education. GFSD's goal is to increase the number of American citizens with graduate degrees in the physical sciences and related engineering fields, emphasizing recruitment of a diverse applicant pool.
Renewable for up to 6 years, provides $20,000 annual stipend, covers graduate tuition, includes one or two paid summer internships with a government agency, and provides a mentor.

Highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of 22 supported STEM disciplines. Three years of support, including full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend ($3,600, for a total of 43,200 annually), and up to $1,600 in medical insurance.
Awards for study and research in the sciences or in engineering leading to master's or doctoral degrees in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, behavioral and social sciences, and in the history and philosophy of sciences. Three-year annual stipend of $37,000, plus $16,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees, for students pursuing graduate education. Usable over 5 years.
