About this Fellowship
Supports eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission.
The Hollings Scholarship is an opportunity for sophomores to become part of NOAA's mission: to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, ocean, and coasts, to share that knowledge and information with others, and to conserve and manage coastal and marine ecosystems and resources.
Successful applicants come from a variety of backgrounds, but share a commitment to NOAA's mission of Science, Service, and Stewardship. Applicants should familiarize themselves with NOAA's areas of work, and be able to explain how their interests, background, and goals align with NOAA.

Award Value
Up to $19,000 for academic expenses (stipend of $9500 each year), as well as a 10-week full-time paid summer internship with a NOAA facility (valued at $7000).

Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
This program provides support for master’s and doctoral degrees in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology—these may include but are not limited to ocean and/or coastal: engineering, social science, marine education, marine stewardship, cultural anthropology, and resource management disciplines—and particularly encourages women and members of minority groups to apply. Awardees receive yearly support of up to $42,000 and up to $10,000 of support for a 4-6 week program collaboration at a NOAA facility. Masters students may be supported for up to two years, and doctoral students for up to four years.
Udall Scholarship
Scholarship for those with a demonstrated record of leadership, public service, and a commitment to careers related to the environment. Up to $7000 for tuition, room, board or other educational expenses, and attendance at 4-day annual Udall Scholar Orientation in Tuscon AZ.
