Research Focus

Viacheslav Klimenko is currently a postdoc at the University of South Carolina. He graduated in theoretical physics (M.Sc.) at Saint Petersburg Academical University in 2011 and was awarded the PhD in astronomy at Ioffe Institute (St. Petersburg, Russia) in 2016.
His interests lie in theoretical astrophysics and UV/optical space astronomy. These include studies of the properties of the interstellar and circumgalactic medium of galaxies in the local Universe and at high redshifts, the evolution of physical conditions in galaxies and their relationship with the history of star formation, and the problem of primary abundances of light elements. He is currently working with Prof. Varsha Kulkarni to study gas flows around galaxies using UV and optical spectroscopy.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
