Our department has a history of dedication to education, and has several award winning teachers and national recognition.

Michael J. Mungo Undergraduate Teaching Award 
 
Emeritus faculty member Dr. Ronald Edge served as president of the AAPT (American Association of Physics Teachers) and Dr. Varsha Kulkarni served as the president of the SACS-AAPT(South Atlantic Coast Section of the AAPT).  In addition, numerous textbooks ranging from undergraduate to research level have been authored by our department faculty.
