The Department of Psychology offers a range of top-rated academic and research opportunities. We have the #1 School Psychology program in the nation and we are ranked in the top two most productive research departments in the U.S. This means students can begin working on faculty-lead research and clinical work as early as their undergraduate years. The broader training students receive here prepares them for any number of career opportunities that involve working with and understanding people and their behavior.

Undergraduate Studies

We offer a Bachelor of Arts degree which provides training in the theories and practices of psychology, the scientific method and opportunities for involvement in research and clinical training.

Graduate Studies

Our graduate program offers the doctoral degree (Ph.D.) with concentrations in Cognitive and Neural Sciences, Quantitative Psychology, Clinical-Community Psychology and School Psychology. Our program emphasizes training in research to prepare graduates for careers in academia and related settings.

Our department explores core research themes including child and family psychology, cognitive neuroscience, community and multicultural psychology, behavioral neuroscience, children in schools, and promoting health. Students at every academic level work closely with our faculty to explore our research themes while getting valuable hands-on experience in our renowned facilities including the McCausland Center for Brain Imaging, the Institute for Mind and Brain and our Psychology Services Center.
