Department of Psychology


We offer assessment and intervention services to meet your emotional and behavioral health needs. As our client, you are active in setting and achieving individualized treatment goals. We coordinate services with medical doctors, schools, advocates and other relevant community partners, when needed.

Practical training 

Our clinicians are doctoral candidates in the Clinical-Community and School Psychology graduate concentrations. Each clinician is supervised by a UofSC faculty member who is licensed in clinical or school psychology. 

Many of our clients are uninsured, underinsured or cannot afford their insurance copay. We use a sliding-scale payment structure to make treatment affordable.


We provide evidence-based treatment to individuals by working collaboratively to develop effective strategies to cope with: 

  • Anxiety or worry
  • Depression
  • Interpersonal and communication problems 
  • Life stresses
  • Stress related to chronic medical conditions
  • Traumatic life events (e.g., death of a loved one, car accidents, violence)

We provide assessment and evaluation services for: 

  • Academic and/or testing accommodations 
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) 
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disabilities 
  • Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations  
  • Disability applications 
  • Learning disabilities 
  • Traumatic brain injury 

Our goal is to help parents and children learn better skills to cope challenges or distress related to: 

  • Anxiety or worry
  • Arguing or fighting  
  • Difficulty paying attention or following directions   
  • Mood problems   
  • Traumatic life events (e.g., death of a loved one, car accidents, violence)

We work with clients to help resolve common issues that cause conflict in relationships, including:   

  • Disagreement over major life issues (e.g., finances, childrearing, chronic illness) 
  • General communication problems 
  • Infidelity  
  • Lack of connection with partner
  • Sexual concerns
