K-12 Leadership

Making decisions at the top levels of a school or school district requires diligence, compassion and an understanding of the needs of diverse populations, among other skills. Some of which can only be learned through direct experience. Our Educational Administration programs will prepare you for these challenges.

Certified educators who seek to advance their career can go beyond the classroom and make decisions that shape school or statewide policy. These programs focus on education as a business enterprise. 

 

Your Coursework

You will study a wide range of topics, ranging from budgeting and resource allocation to the obligations that school administrations have to federal and state government. You will also have opportunities to develop your skills in performing research and applying your findings. Your courses will also deal with the topics of cultural awareness, diversity and inclusion, along with advocacy.

 

Your Career

These degrees have a narrower focus than most, each one prepares you for a specific role: the M.Ed. program is designed to prepare you for principal certification. Completing the Ed.S. program can lead to superintendent certification.
